As you drive along the beach road, you will
reach a fork in the road. The right fork will take you to Tofo beach and the
left to Ponta da Barra. At this junction is Bar Babalaza, a famous restaurant and bar.
The beach is a broad expanse of clean sand and it is
safe to swim there, although there is much traffic on the beach in the
form of quad bikes and vehicles towing boats, so parents with small
children should beware! Nearby is Tofinho, which is popular
with snorkellers and surfers.
